Being overweight doesn’t just have an adverse effect on your physical health — it can also play havoc with your mental wellbeing into the bargain. In extreme cases people can become severely depressed over their weight situation and their inability to sort it out effectively. Most diet and dieting advice that you’ll be given is best suited to someone that feels confident about their ability to stick with the program. It’s not so much that diets are designed for ‘happy’ people…it’s just that it is that much harder to see them through until you get decent results if you aren’t happy with your life.
